Chilt beat Southwater

Chilt got off to an excellent start with their one and only warm-up game this year, away at the brilliant new Southwater ground.

Callum lost the toss and was asked to bowl. Hugh took the first ever wicket at the new Southwater ground and Southwater were in trouble at 4-2 when Charlie D ran out the big gun Yohan Brewer. Will Farnes bowled excellently with no luck.

Theo-TC came on and ran through the middle order with 3-12 supported at the other end by the evergreen Fitz who himself took 2-28.

Southwater crumbled to 106 all out, Callum grabbing three catches at first slip and even Ollie H got in on the act finally after two dry seasons taking his first ever catch for the club! (I've seen it all now)

Morne opened up on debut with Alfie and quickly put the Southwater bowlers to the sword. He hit 46 in quick time, whilst Alfie quietly got on with business at the other end. Ollie chopped on but Toby and Alfie saw us over the line only two wickets down. Alfie ending 34 not out and Toby 25 not out.

Great signs for the coming season, particularly from the yoof. Well played Morne on debut, no doubt we'll see that bat raised soon enough, a fifty would have been well deserved.
