You may have already heard there will be no awards dinner this year, but that won't stop us recognising the efforts of Dan and Raylene who have been awarded the Club Persons of the Year award!
This honour recognises the work both have put into the club this year from running the bar, to scoring, to coaching Under 10s, organising fixtures for six senior sides and generally bringing smiles to people's faces every weekend.
The role of Fixture Secretary alone deserves it's own award. Dan took on the role expecting to only be required to find the odd Sunday fixture. Instead he's had to re-arrange 9 pre-season friendlies, arrange 7 Fourth XI fixtures and each week a further 2 Sunday fixtures, and that is just to date! "It's straightforward" said Hasler as he passed on the baton. No one saw Coronavirus disruption and this coming! Safe to say, next season will be a walk in the park compared to this.
But seriously, very well done, congratulations and thank you Raylene and Dan. Clubs only survive because of people like you. WCTCC is lucky to have you and many others like you.
