Dudley Room

Updated: Sep 20, 2021

It is with great sadness that we must to tell you about the passing of Dudley Room.

Dudley, and his wife Barbara first started coming down to watch Saturday cricket only six or seven years ago. Very quickly they became club fixtures in their own right. Helping at club events, work parties and even putting on cricket teas and all because they loved cricket and because they quickly fell in love with our wonderful club.

Dudley had played cricket for many years, he was a wicket keeper. A role he loved and was extremely proud to see his grandson Carl follow in his footsteps as a wicket keeper at WCTCC.

The last days cricket he was able to watch was our Bank Holiday fun day. He had an absolute ball, watching players of all ages and standards enjoying the game he loved at a club he adored.

Dudley will be missed by all of us at WCTCC. I am sure you will join me in wishing Barbara, Alan, John, Carl and the rest of the Room family love and best wishes at this very sad time.
