June Half-Term Camp 2021
50 Girls and Boys enjoyed some glorious sunshine in the fantastic setting at West Chiltington & Thakeham Cricket Club during the June Half -Term. We had New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies and Sri Lanka playing for the Soft Ball World Cup, and India, England and Australia fighting it out for the Hard Ball World Cup. The children displayed fantastic teamwork and commitment to learning fundamental skills which were then slowly but surely applied in the match environments.
Both World Cups came down to the wire with India just clinching the Hard Ball Title and West Indies doing the same in the Soft Ball Tournament! We focus on teamwork and playing in the spirit of the game and all the children displayed this in abundance. Gray-Nicholls supplied some wonderful prizes including bats and balls for 6 children who made a big impact on their peers during the camp.
Our coaching team kept the kids active, smiling and engaged and included Abi, Adam, Ben and Hugo as well as Ray, Patrick, Angus and Matthew who were delivering their volunteering coaching hours for their “Young Leaders in Cricket” qualification.
Finally, a massive thanks to West Chiltington & Thakeham Cricket Club for their support and allowing us to use the fantastic facilities! Bring on the summer and hope to catch you there!
