U14s beat Three Bridges

Updated: Oct 2, 2019

Our first league game of the season took us to Three Bridges on a sunny and blustery day.

Adam Trees (c), Benji Jackson, Charlie Woodage, Thomas Davies-Crisp, Dylan Trevelyan-Clark, Tom Saunders, Sam Stace (wk & debut), Ben Skirrow, Jenna Jackson, Jack Woodage (U13s), Angus Alcott (u12).

Adam won the toss and put the home team into bat.

Tom & Ben (both left arm) opened the bowling with a consistent line and length with the batsman finding runs hard to come by which resulted in a run out in only the second over, followed by a wicket in the 5th for Tom batsman being caught by Adam at mid wicket.

Dylan & Benji came into the attack and kept up the pressure with hardly giving away any runs, both unlucky not to pick up a wicket.

At the half way point (10 overs) they had only scored 24-2.

Enter Adam & Jenna who continued the good work, pleased to see Jenna pick up a wicket bowled.

Thomas into the attack and had a stumping (fine work by Sam) in his first which was a wicket maiden.

Jack bowled an over which resulted in a run out, and in the final over Angus had a wicket bowled.

Three Bridges 57-6

A very impressive bowling performance which only had 6 extras ( 3 wides & 3 byes ) this was backed up by superb fielding, from ball one everyone really wanted to be involved, great encouragement, movement, body language and attitude was good, excellent!

Charlie & Benji opened the batting against their quick opener and spin bowler, unfortunately lost our first wicket in the 4th over with Benji being bowled, followed by Thomas in the 6th unluckily bowled after defending the ball which agonising rolled onto the stumps, unfortunately Jenna out caught at mid wicket next ball, 28-3 still work to do but the Woodage's saw us home with 8 overs to go, Charlie on 28 and his younger brother Jack on 8.

Extremely well played to everyone who all contributed in the game.
